Arkansas AG opens three mobile offices in this region

-

Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge recently announced mobile office locations for September in Southwest Arkansas.

The three offices in Southwest Arkansas include:

Hempstead County: Sept. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Hempstead Senior Center in Hope at 102 S. Main Street, Hope.

Little River County: Sept. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Little River Senior Center in the Ashdown City Park at 1321 Gordon Drive in Ashdown.

Sevier County: Sept. 20 from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Sevier County Senior Center in De Queen at 605 E. Hayes St. in De Queen.

Rutledge created the mobile office initiative in 2015 to make the office accessible to everyone, particularly to those who live outside Little Rock. Last year, office hours were conducted in all 75 counties, marking the first time that the Attorney General’s office has held office hours in each county across the state. Since January, 43 mobile offices have been offered.

The Attorney General Mobile Offices assist residents with consumer-related issues in filing consumer complaints against scam artists.

Staff will also be available to answer questions about the office and the other services it offers. “There is no issue too small for my staff to have a faceto-face conversation,” Rutledge said.

Earlier this year, Rutledge expanded the services offered at mobile offices to include “Prescription Drug Take Back” boxes. Rutledge is partnering with local law enforcement agencies across the state who will handle a secure box and properly dispose of the prescription drugs collected. Residents can bring their old, unused or expired prescription medications to an upcoming mobile office.
