Dixon helps Arkansas High outlast Hot Springs

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.—Mercedez Dixon served in 14 points, including two aces and had eight digs as Arkansas High outlasted Hot Springs, 25-20, 25-12, 28-30, 25-23 Thursday.

Brooklyn Brewer had 12 service points, seven kills, two blocks and six digs for the Lady Backs. Megan Holder helped out with six kills and eight blocks. Adison Wright served in nine winners and had 15 digs for Arkansas High.

Makenna Ivey had eight service points, six kills and 12 digs, while teammate Tierra Holliman made 15 assists, two blocks, and 10 digs for the Lady Backs. Tatiyana Johnson made 24 digs.

Jasmine Simmons served in 17 winners and had three kills to lead Arkansas High's junior varsity over Hot Springs, 25-10, 25-9.

L-E teams edged by Gilmer

Gilmer nipped host Liberty-Eylau, 37-36, at Harris Field in a junior varsity game.

Ralph Crabtree had three touchdown runs for the Leopards, covering 15, 46 and 38 yards. R. J. Green added a 45-yard TD run and a 2-point conversion, and Daz Cooper hauled in a 14-yard strike from Deshaun Dickerson. Dickerson also had a 2-pointer. Defensive standouts included Brandon Plummer, Dakota Miller, Marzavion Riles and Laken Stuart.

Korbyn White scored Liberty-Eylau's lone touchdown as the 9th grade Leopards fell to Gilmer, 15-6.

Shannon Roy was an offensive standout for L-E.

The Leopards' Decorrious Beasley and Josh Webster were defensive standouts.

Liberty-Eylau (1-4) hosts Paris

Thursday.

North Heights rolls by De Queen

Hollis Mullins scored on an 86-yard run, and North Heights' 8th grade defeated De Queen, 24-8.

Jackson Harris found the end zone from 14 yards out, and Tori Blair had a 65-yard TD run for the Hogs. Eric Flowers caught an 11-yard touchdown from Josh Taylor.

The Hogs' coaches praised the defense, running backs, and offensive line.

North Heights' 8th grade (3-1) plays at De Queen in two weeks. The 7th grade hosts Ashdown Monday.

Atlanta JV tops Tatum

TATUM, Texas—Austin Brown caught a 55-yard touchdown pass from Slayton Holland as Atlanta defeated Tatum, 8-0.

Daries Allen ran in the 2-point conversion for the Rabbits.

Defensive standouts for Atlanta were Hunter Belk, Clayton Moseley, and Cullen Richardson.

Scrappers take 51st in a row

NASHVILLE, Ark.—Nashville quarterbac­k Lance Easter ran for a pair a touchdowns and tossed a third as the Scrappers junior high won its 51st consecutiv­e game, 41-14, over Fountain Lake.

Easter had scoring runs of 4 and 51 yards and connected with Aaron Lott for a 43-yard strike. Jacobe Jefferson ran just three times and gained 94 yards and two TDs, covering 63 and 24 yards, and Carmillias Morrison had a score on three carries for 102 yards, with a 55-yard scamper to the end zone.

DeKalb JV ties Ore City

DeKALB, Texas—Timon Proby had touchdown runs of 3 and 96 yards to lead DeKalb, and the Bears tied Ore City, 22-22.

With eight seconds left in the game, Kole Dooley found Riley Starrett on a 4-yard touchdown pass to bring the Bears within two, 22-20. Dooley ran in the 2-point PAT for the tie. DeKalb kicker Daniel Espinoza legged in two extra points.

The Bears' 8th grade defeated the Rebels, 18-6. Ramaj Vaughn had a 6-yard TD run, while twin brother Jamar Vaughn found the end zone on a 4-yard run.

Ty Olson had DeKalb's final score on a 7-yard run.

The Bears' 7th grade nudged Ore City, 14-12. Kaiden Williams picked up a fumbled Rebel 2-point conversion and took it back 97 yards to score two points for DeKalb.

Mason Trejo scored on a 36-yard run, and teammate Kobe Williams had a 12-yard TD run for the Bears.
