MARIA PEÑA

Maria de Jesus Matta Peña, 82, of Wake Village, Texas, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 in an Austin hospital.

Mrs. Peña was born Aug. 5, 1934 in El Potrero, Mexico. She was owner of Los Primos Restaurant and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Toribio L. Peña; by two sons, Alberto Peña and Toribio Peña I; and one daughter, Erlinda Peña.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters in-law, Dr. Roberto M. and Juana Peña of Austin and Toribio Jr. and Cindy Peña of McAlester, Okla., and Jimmy Peña and fiancé, Tula Hallis; two daughters and sons in-law, Helen and Jose Peña of Pflugerville, Texas and Cynthia and Lenure Wise of DeKalb, Texas; and a number of other relatives.

Mass services will be 11 a. m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael J. Adams officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home with visitation following.
