NAPLES, Texas—Richard Charles “Dickie” Morris, 74, of Naples died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Morris was born July 27, 1942 in Ajo, Ariz. He was retired from the Morris County Sheriff’s Department as deputy sheriff, constable, and jailor, former Naples nightwatchman and a member of Belden Masonic Lodge and Naples Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorthy Ann Morris in 2009.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Alfred Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Paula Morris of Waskom, Texas; two grandchildren, Ashley Smith and Kristy Smith; one great-granddaughter, Mychelle; and a number of other relatives.

No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under direction of Harrison Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
