Ashdown plays Robinson for playoff seeding

-

LITTLE ROCK—Ashdown travels to Joe T. Robinson in a Conference 7-4A battle that will help determine playoff seeding.

The Panthers are the No. 5 team in the state, and the Senators are No.3 in the state. Both teams have lost close games to defending state champion and No. 1 Nashville this season. Ashdown was defeated 56-51, while Robinson lost 31-28.

This matchup of Class 4A powerhouses should be a close one. The winner will take sole possession of second place in the conference standings with a week to go.

Ashdown is averaging 34.6 points per game and are giving up 21.5 points per outing. Robinson is scoring 43.6 points a game on average and give up 17.2.

The Panthers hold a 4-0 record against the Senators.

One playoff spot remains from 5A-South with four teams tied with 2-3 records.

Horatio is still in the hunt for a playoff berth from 5-3A but has to travel to once-beaten Glen Rose, and Fouke could wrap up a playoff spot with a home win over winless Drew Central.

In 7-2A four teams are knotted at 4-1 atop the standings. Foreman hosts Murfreesboro in a showdown of two of those four, while Dierks, another of the 4-1 quartet, is home against Spring Hill. Mount Ida improves to 5-1 with a forfeit win over Mountain Pine this week.
