ORA MELTON

Ora Bethene Melton, 86, of Texarkana, Ark., died Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at her home.

Mrs. Melton was born May 27, 1930, in Texarkana, Texas. She was a retired beautician and a member of Texas and Arkansas Beautician Club and Eleventh Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Melton Sr.

Survivors include two sons, Donice Melton of Texarkana and Thomas Melton Jr. of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Stephanie Melton and Karen Elliott of Texarkana; one brother, Jimmie Atkins of Chicago; three sisters, Lillie Booker and Bernice Riles of Texarkana and Doris Coleman of Gardenia, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Closed casket services will 11 a.m. Saturday at Eleventh Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas C. Melton Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Fair Haven Cemetery under direction of Lyles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
