DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
DE JONATHAN ALLEN, ALABAMA
You could pick any number of players off the Crimson Tide defense — it felt like all of them scored a TD at some point or another — but Allen was probably the most disruptive of the bunch. He had nine sacks on the season and spearheaded a defense that allowed the fewest total yards, rushing yards and points in the regular season. Also worth a mention: Tennessee DE Derek Barnett and LBs Zach Cunningham (Vanderbilt), Reuben Foster (Alabama) and Jordan Jones (Kentucky).
