James Cornett

Funeral services are planned for Mr. James Abner Cornett, 86, of Jefferson, Texas 2:00 P.M. Wednesday January 18, 2017 in the Capt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home with Bro. Taylor Duncan officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. There will be a gathering of family and friends 5 – 7 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Cornett was born January 18, 1930 in Jefferson, TX. to Abner Charlie and Eunice Stone Cornett, and passed away January 15, 2017 in Jefferson. Mr. Cornett was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jesse Clinton Cornett and best friend Jennifer Nell Cornett.

Mr. Cornett proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, worked for Thiokol for thirtyseven years and was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church.

Mr. Cornett is survived by his children, Charles “Tuffy” Cornett & wife Susan, James S. “Jim” Cornett & wife Amanda and Jonathan M. Cornett & wife Brandi all of Jefferson., sister, Charlene Hicks & husband George of Kellyville and sister-in-law Carol Cornett of Lodi, grandchildren, James Waylon Cornett & wife Heather of New Boston, TX., Jessica Nicole Dalrymple of Linden, TX., great grandchildren, Brooklynne Dalrymple and Brayson Dalrymple, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
