Trash on streets
TO THE EDITOR:
Have our city governments gone blind? I read with ironical humor, the article a few weeks back, the city of Texarkana, Texas, were asking for a raise in the garbage fees. My question is, as I drive around both sides of the city, Nash and Wake Village, why should we pay a garbage fee at all? Just throw it out the car window, throw it down any old place while you’re walking or, hey, put it in bed of your pick-up. It will blow out, eventually, somewhere. There is so much trash on our streets and highways, that it’s obvious that’s what is happening!
With huge budgets for the Twin Cities and large budgets for Wake Village and Nash, can’t our overseers of our communities do something? If I was thinking of working and living here it just takes a few drives around to change my mind. It’s a disgrace and getting worse every day.
How about using some of those taxes being collected in the liquor sales? I know the governments of all the cities I’ve mentioned can’t fix stupid, or “I don’t care” or lazy, but it’s you along with the Chamber of Commerce that will have address this issue. Media bias

I know I speak for many in this area and the United States, when I say ” I am tired to death of the “liberal” news media and this papers unending onslaught of sarcasm, pessimism, demagoguery, skewing, slanting, innuendo, inference, and whining about President-elect Donald Trump. Will we have to put up with this for the next eight years? When did the news stop reporting the news and start putting out their own version of the news, as they want it perceived, instead of just the facts and let the people make up their mind. Does the media think we are all so frail of mind as to not be able to make our minds up ourself on issues. We do not need the media’s protection, we are not feeble minded. Keep your opinions on the “Opinion Page”, not interlaced throughout the entire paper and all over NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN. Did you not get the memo? Did you not hear the message sent in this election? We do not care what your version of the truth is, we have and will in the future decide for ourself. The media has chosen the wrong side. The people have spoken. Be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem.
Apparently the liberal news medias “Trump Approval Rating” logarithm is as flawed as the one used for pre-election polling. The major news medias still do not know how to accept that the people of the United States elected Donald Trump, not the Russians. The Russians did nothing but expose the dirty dealings of the DNC. There is no one who disputes what Podesta said, or what Wasserman did. They just rant about the process, not the truth that was exposed. These revelations provided by the Russians were true, the DNC did not mean for voters to know how they manipulate elections. These revelations shined brightly on the underbelly of politics in the U.S. The recent comments by Booker and Lewis show the inflexibility of the liberal left and the complacency that the liberal left has enjoyed. Medical equipment

My daughter has a handicap-accessible van. On June 3, 2014, she accepted delivery of the van. At that time we pointed out the substandard workmanship of the van. The company that delivered the van said all the issues would be repaired but after two years of arguing and getting the runaround we were told the company would not do anything. Then I started asking questions and found out that a piece of durable medical equipment warranty does not cover the workmanship of the item.
There is not a representative agency in the state of Texas or the United States that can make a company honor its warranty even though the warranty is on their Website. Once you accept a piece of durable medical equipment you are at the mercy of the company that sold it to you. The only thing you can do is hire a lawyer at $200 an hour and it takes 18 to 24 months to get it in court. Jimmy Roach Texarkana, Texas
