Tiger­sharks com­pete at state

AUSTIN—Texas High has in­di­vid­u­als com­pet­ing in 12 dif­fer­ent events to­day, as well as all six re­lays at the UIl 5A state swim and dive cham­pi­onships at the Lee and Joe Ja­mail Texas Swim Cen­ter.

The pre­lims are set for 5:30 p.m. to­day with the fi­nals sched­uled for 3:30 p.m. Satur­day. The top eight from to­day's pre­lims ad­vance to the fi­nals.

Three Tiger­sharks qual­i­fied in the boys 1-me­ter div­ing. Hunter Burt, Robert Bland and Ja­cob Mitch­more will rep­re­sent Texas High in the event, and on the girls side, Court­ney Lourens and Lau­ren Pot­ter will com­pete for THS in the girls 1-me­ter div­ing.

Kris­ten Clay­ton and Ohe­maa Barnes each are qual­i­fied in two in­di­vid­ual races.

Clay­ton will com­pete in the 200 freestyle and the 100 breast­stroke, and Barnes qual­i­fied in the 50 freestyle and 100 back­stroke. Cathryn Payne also is a state com­peti­tor in the 100 but­ter­fly.

All three girls re­lays—the 200 med­ley, 200 free and 400 free—and all three boys re­lays qual­i­fied for the state meet.

Dy­lan Rosser and Max Young are dou­ble-qual­if­ers for the Tiger­sharks on the boys side.

Rosser is en­tered in the 200 in­di­vid­ual med­ley and the 100 back­stroke, and Young qual­ifed in the 200 free and 500 freestyle. Owen Likins also is qual­i­fied in the 500 free.

Ni­cholas Radom­ski will com­pete in the 100 breast­stroke for Texas High.
