Betty Ann Maloney passed away peacefully with her family by her side Monday, February 27, 2017. She was born July 3, 1924 in Texarkana, AR. She was a loving mother, grandmothe­r, and great grandmothe­r to many. She was a lifelong member of St. Edward Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Share the Word, and taught children’s religious education. She worked at Red River Army Depot as a procuremen­t agent until her retirement in 1983.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Thomas Maloney, a son, William Maloney, two infant sons, Timothy and Thomas, and one son-in-law, Noble LeGrand.

Survivors include one son, John Maloney of Fairfield Bay, AR, six daughters and five sons-inlaw, Bridget and Mike Robinson and Margaret and Roger Gold of Texarkana, AR, Pauline LeGrand, Mary and Ed Starling and Kathleen and Mike Heflin of Wake Village, TX, Dorothy and Alton Murray of Maud, TX, 14 grandchild­ren, 15 great grandchild­ren, and a number of special nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Rosary will be recited Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at East Funeral Home – Downtown with visitation to follow at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church with Rev. James West and Deacon David Fowler officiatin­g. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home – Downtown.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Texarkana for their loving care and attention given to her and her family during her final days.
