Pleasant Grove shuts out Arkadelphi­a

ARKADELPHI­A, Ark.—Pleasant Grove devoured Arkadelphi­a on the road, 10-0.

Caleb Bolden not only pitched a complete game one-hitter, but he also left the yard twice for the Hawks. Bolden’s first bomb came in the first inning with one runner on base. His second shot, came in the third inning with a sole base runner. Bolden also had four hits and four RBIs for Pleasant Grove.

Carson Cox contribute­d two hits for the Hawks, Keaton Russo added a run scoring triple and Jackson Cobb added a RBI double.

Pleasant Grove is 5-1 overall this season.

The Hawks are back in action beginning this Thursday at the Marshall Maverick Invitation­al.

NASHVILLE 13, MENA 1

NASHVILLE, Ark.—Nashville bottled up Mena on the diamond in the varsity boys’ action.

Austin Chambers was the winning pitcher for the Scrappers.

Hunter White blasted a two-run home-run in the third inning.

Nashville is currently 1-0 overall this season.

ATLANTA 6, NEW BOSTON 2

ATLANTA, Texas—The Rabbits took care of the Lions at home in varsity baseball.

Jake Thompson was the winning pitcher for Atlanta.

Layton Henson led the Rabb bats with three RBIs and Christian Oliver added two RBIs.

Atlanta is back on the diamond

Friday, traveling to Lufkin.

Softball HORATIO 3, MURFREESBO­RO 1

MURFREESBO­RO, Ark.—Horatio edged out Murfreesbo­ro in varsity softball.

Leann Beasley was the winning pitcher for Horatio.

Kelsi Eastland, Kaileigh Morgan and Laken Emmerson drove-in runs for Horatio.

SUBVARSITY

Texas High throttled North Lamar in jayvee baseball, 14-4.

Tracy Cooper led the Tigers’ rout, blasting a second inning home-run for the Tigers. Cooper also doubled for the Tigers.

Texas High is 1-0 on the season.

The Tigers are back in competitio­n this weekend in the Liberty-Eylau Invitation­al.

LONGVIEW INVITATION­AL

LONGVIEW, Texas—Macie Webb won the girls’ A singles over trinity, 8-1.

Shelbi Poole won the girls’ B singles over Hallsville, 8-2.

Clara Smith and Bradley Owens defeated teammates Bryson Harris and Sarah Smith.

Landon Durham won the boys’ B singles over Davis Miller.

Gabriel West and Burrus Moss placed second in the boys’ doubles, falling to Longview.

Elena Rossi and Ishita Patel placed third, falling to Lindale and defeating Trinity.
