PG boys, girls win doubles titles

Pleasant Grove won district titles in both girls singles and boys doubles Thursday at Texarkana College.

Shannon Lee won the girls singles, defeating teammate Caroline Joyce.

Jack Foster and Wes Humphrey defeated Atlanta, to take first place in Boys Doubles.

Christian Kauai and George Douglas defeated Paris in the third place match.

Clark Giles defeated Adam Bone in the boys singles third place match.

The first and second place advance to regionals in Longview on April 17-19.

Centennial Titan Invitation­al Trippe, Sanders win doubles

FRISCO, Texas—Texas High's tennis team traveled to the Metroplex to compete with 16 other teams in the Centennial Tital Invitation­al.

Walker Trippe and Quinn Sanders defeated Frisco Reedy, to win the boys doubles.

Ali Richter and Cullen Schoen fell to Highland Park, finishing in second place in mixed doubles.

Griffin Johnson was a quarterfin­alist. Texas High is back in action in the Mike Nesbit Invitation­al next Friday. District play begins for the Tigers on April 5-6 at home.

Ball N Brake Invitation­al Camden Fairview 7, Genoa Central 6

MAGNOLIA, Ark.—The Dragons fell in a heart-breaker to Camden Fairview in their first game at the Ball N Brake Invitation­al.

Colby Cobb went 4 for 5 and added three RBI for the Dragons.

Tyler Moreland and Logan Martin each contribute­d two RBI in the contest for Genoa Central.

The Dragons are 7-5 overall and 5-1 in conference competitio­n.

Genoa Central takes on Smackover at 9 a.m. today in Magnolia.
