DISTRICT 16-5A BOYS
Unbeaten district champion Mount Pleasant garnered three suprlatives and occupied three spots on the first team on the boys 16-5A all-district team, chosen by the league coaches.
Mount Pleasant senior center James Moore was selected as the Most Valuable Player for 16-5A. MP sophomore Dorian Glinton and Texas High senior Quan Hampton were Co-Offensive MVPs, and Mount Pleasant’s Joey Chism was named the Coach of the Year.
Sulphur Springs sophomore Victor Iwuakor was the Defensive MVP, and Pine Tree freshman JJ Sparkman was selected as the Newcomer of the Year.
Texas High junior Tevailance Hunt was a first-team selection. Mount Pleasant juniors Josh McGill, Kevin Savage and Buddy McGill were also first-teamers. Hallsville seniors Blaine Parker and Kameron Fitzpatrick were chosen for the first team, along with Marshall senior Kris Dunn and junior Corteze Hurd, Pine Tree senior Eric Hawkins, and Sulphur Springs senior Ke’Ontae Dunn and sophomore Keaston Willis.
