DONNA DOSS

Donna Kay Hignight Doss, 65, of Hooks, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017, at Hospice of Texarkana to her heavenly home.

Donna was born May 26, 1951, to Elvas and Jean Hignight. She graduated in 1969 from Hooks High School. She was retired from GTE, and later retired from Domtar in 2012. She was a Baptist.

Donna is survived by the love of her life, Mike Doss, whom she married on December 27, 1995, and was married to for over 21 years.

Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Caroline Rains of Texarkana; one niece, Kimberly Mitchell of Texarkana; one great-niece, Chloe Page of Texarkana; one nephew, Radie Hignight of Henderson, Texas; daughter-in-law, Joey Rains of New Boston, Texas; mother-inlaw, Wanda Sheridan of New Boston, Texas; stepson, Greg Doss and wife, Heather Doss, and their son and daughter, Brydon Doss and Mollie Doss; stepdaughter, Dana Ivey and husband, Bridger Ivey, and son and daughter, Bridger Ivey and Keelie Ivey. She is also survived by many cousins and her beloved dogs, Buster, Baxter, Leo and Bella, and her cat, Kalie, whom she loved so much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvas and Jean Hignight; her only brother, Steve Hignight; and a son, Chad Rains.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Everett Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Ford and the Rev. Willard Land officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Springs Cemetery under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

Visitation will be today at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
