El Dorado blanks Arkansas High

El Dorado, Ark.—A six-run fifth inning was all the Wildcats needed to defeat the Razorbacks at home, 6-0.

Gage Otwell received the complete game shutout for the Wildcats.

Drake Browning, Austin Nix, Tristen Koller and Matthew Mobley all garnered hits for the Hogs.

PLEASANT GROVE 5, NORTH LAMAR 1

Pleasant Grove took an early lead in the first inning and never looked back.

Tyler Jeans earned the win on the hill for the Hawks. Jeans pitched seven innings and only allowed one hit. Jeans also struck out 11 batters and walked one North Lamar batter.

Caleb Bolden and Keaton Russo each captured multiple hits for Pleasant Grove.

Softball EL DORADO 12, ARKANSAS HIGH 8

EL DORADO, Ark.—El Dorado defeated Arkansas High’s varsity softball squad at home.

Kaitlyn Fortenberr­y pitched five innings and gave up nine hits for the Lady Backs. Fortenberr­y also went 3 for 4 at the plate and added two RBI.

Ajahi Cheatham added two RBI for Arkansas High.

Kailey Burns chipped in a RBI double for the Lady Backs.

Adison Wright and Katie Todd, both had RBI singles for Arkansas High.

The Lady Backs are back in action Friday, hosting Hope.

NORTH LAMAR 10, PLEASANT GROVE 0

North Lamar blanked Pleasant Grove at home.

Brooke Collard received the win in the circle for the Lady Panthers.

Emily Hilton and Madison Allen, each went 1 for 2 for the Lady Hawks.

TEXAS HIGH 4, PINE TREE 2

PINE TREE, Texas–The Lady Tigers pulled out a hard fought victory over the Lady Pirates on the strength on pitcher Mabry Smith’s 14 strikeouts while allowing only 3 hits. The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead , but the Lady Pirated mounted a furious rally in the bottom of the 6th to cut the lead to 3-2. In the top of the 7th the Lady Tigers scored 1 more run for the final margin of victory. Offensivel­y, Ryann Williams went 3-4, and Braley Turner went 1-4 with 3RBI. With this win, Texas High moves to 8-0 in district and 21-3 overall. The JV posted a 4-0 win. Braley Hagan went 2-3 and also was the winning pitcher for the Lady Tigers.
