Pleasant Grove holds lead at District 14-4A golf tournament

SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas—The Pleasant Grove boys’ golf squad is in the lead at its district golf tournament held at the Sulphur Springs Country Club.

The Hawks lead with a team score of 290. PG has a 26 shot lead over North Lamar, who shot 316. PG’s Gold Team is in third place, shooting 349.

Braxton Watkins shot 3 under par to lead the medalist division.

Watkins scored 69, Ray Norton shot 73, Jathan White shot 89, Ben LeGrand scored 71 and Jackson Giles shot 77 for PG’s black squad.

Parker Mathews led Pleasant Grove’s gold team, scoring 87. Nick LeGrand shot 89, Griffin Young scored 82, Tristen Thompson scored 91 and Yates Floyd shot 101.

The Lady Hawks lead after the first round of play, with a team score of 396.

Hannah Haltom leads the medalist division, shooting a score of 70.

Allison Jones shot 106, Tori Bean scored 115 and Kaylee Jones shot 105.

Dakota Frachiseur received the win for Horatio on the hill and also fanned seven Fouke batters.
