Barron, Pirates buck Rivercrest, 15-0

BOGATA, Texas—Evan Barron pitched a three-hitter shutout as James Bowie trounced Rivercrest 15-0 in a baseball game Friday.

Barron also doubled, singled and drove in three runs for the Pirates as he improved to 4-1 on the mound.

Branson Wilson and Bailey Obenoskey had two hits apiece for James Bowie. Wilson had an RBI.

HORATIO 8, PRESCOTT 2

PRESCOTT, Ark.—Wade Beasley pitched 5 2-3 innings, earned the win, and had 10 Ks as Horatio defeated Prescott.

Beasley helped himself at the plate with a pair of hits and 3 RBI for the Lions.

Parker Smith smacked two hits and had 2 RBI, and teammate Trey Pickett had two hits for Horatio.

HOOKS 3, QUEEN CITY 1

HOOKS, Texas—The Hornets were able to hold off Bulldogs in a district clash in varsity baseball.

Blake Starrett received the win on the hill for Hooks. Starrett struckout 10 Queen City batters.

Marquiz Estell had two hits and an RBI for the Hornets.

DeKALB, Texas—Morgan McAlexande­r gave up five hits, fanned 11, and got the shutout as New Boston routed DeKalb.

Hannah White laced in a pair of hits to go with 2 RBI for the Lady Lions, while teammate Alaysia Henderson racked up three hits.

New Boston’s Angel Evans helped out with a pair of hits.

MAUD 18, BLOOMBURG 1

BLOOMBURG, Texas—Allie Houchens threw a one-hitter and gave up one run as Maud routed Bloomburg.

Mackenzie O’Brian nearly hit for the cycle, sans a triple for the Lady Cardinals. O’Brian hit a 3-run shot in the second and had 5 RBI.

Houchens had a pair of singles, doubled and drove in 3 runs for Maud, while teammate Rachel McAnally smacked a 1-run single. Houchens improved to 4-2 in the circle. Maud 453 6 —18 13 1 Bloomburg 010 0 — 1 1 6 Game ended after 4 innings, run rule.

COVE, Ark.—Kaylea Carver singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs as Nashville rolled past Cossatot River.

Madi Miller, Brittany Hilliard, and Olivia Herzog were 2 for 3 apiece for the Lady Scrappers. Jules Futrell was 2 for 4 for Nashville.

Hillaiard got the win, gave up one run and scattered five hits.
