Lady Rabbs rout Pleasant Grove

ATLANTA, Texas—Kinsey Kelly hammered a grand slam in the second frame as Atlanta run-ruled Pleasant Grove, 13-2, Friday at Lady Rabbit Field in a District 14-4A game.

Kinsey Kelly was 2 for 2 with a home run, a single and 6 RBI for Atlanta, while teammate Victoria Johnson was 2 for 3 with a 3-run round tripper, a single, and 3 RBI.

The Lady Rabbits’ Cydnee Wood was 2 for 4, doubled, singled, scored two runs and had 2 RBI. Kaydee Kelly was 2 for 2 with a pair of singles and scored two runs.

Rebecca Thomas allowed two runs on five hits and earned the win. Pleasant Grove’s Kristin Key doubled and was 2 for 3.

Atlanta (16-11, 2-5) hosts Liberty-Eylau at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Soccer ARKANSAS HIGH 5, HOPE 3 HOPE, Ark.—Arkansas High’s varsity soccer club defeated Hope in a penalty kick shootout.

Eduardo Perez scored two goals in the match for the Razorbacks. Perez’s first goal came in the 22nd minute, with the assist going to Jose Rosas. Perez’s second goal was from a penalty kick in the 42nd minute.

Jacob Akin, Eamonn Murray, Alexis Villascaz and Peyton Porter, each made a penalty kick during the shootout.

Hog keeper Joe Cuellar, made seven saves and blocked two penalty kicks.

The Razorbacks are 6-4 overall this season.

Arkansas High is back in action Friday, hosting Hot Springs.
