Passport fair will be held today
Those needing a passport outside normal business hours will have an opportunity to obtain one at the Texarkana Post Office's passport fair.
Come to the Texarkana Post Office from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 211 N. Robison Road, Texarkana, Texas. Appointments aren't required this day. Customers are encouraged to show up early, as they will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.
To obtain a passport, bring the following items: Proper proof of American citizenship. This must be a long-form birth certificate issued by the city, county or state, a previous U.S. passport, an original certificate of citizenship or an original naturalization certificate.
Proof of identity. These are a recently issued U.S. passport, a recently issued naturalization certificate, a recently issued certificate of citizenship or a current driver's license, government or military photo ID. a 2x2 photograph. The passport office also can provide a photo for a $15 fee.
Additionally, applicants must appear in person, and those under the age of 16 must appear with both parents. To save time, customers may download a passport application at www.usps.com/passport/. It must be complete beforehand in black ink.
