Camden Fairview blanks AHS

CAMDEN, Ark.—Camden Fairview shut out Arkansas High in a Conference 6A-South varsity softball game Friday, 6-0.

Kailey Burns and Kate Todd, both went 2 for 4 at the plate for the Lady Backs.

Arkansas High’s Kaitlyn Fortenberr­y pitched five innings of two-hit relief and struck out five.

Baseball

PLEASANT GROVE 11, PARIS 0

PARIS, Texas—Caleb Bolden pitched a 4-hitter, got the win, and struck out eight as fourth-ranked Pleasant Grove blanked Paris in a District 14-4A game.

Cade Thompson collected four hits with a double and 4 RBI for the Hawks (23-2, 7-0). Keaton Russo hammered a triple, had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for PG.

Jackson Cobb laced in a triple, had two hits with an RBI for the Hawks.

Pleasant Grove hosts Liberty-Eylau at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hawk Field.

Pleasant Grove softball lost to Paris,

7-6.

DE QUEEN 4, ARKANSAS HIGH 2

DE QUEEN, Ark.—De Queen defeated Arkansas High on the road in a varsity baseball conference clash.

Kaden Tollett received the win on the hill for the Leopards.

Matthew Mobley pitched 3 2-3 innings for the Razorbacks, striking out five and giving up two hits.

Drake Browning and Austin Nix were both 2 for 3 for the Hogs.

Track and field TRINITY’S NELSON PLACES SECOND

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.—Trinity Christian pole vaulter Rhett Nelson earned second place with a leap of 15 1-4 at the Wolf Relays at Lake Hamilton High School.

The Warriors’ Adam Bruce placed fourth in the 800 (2:03) and seventh in the 1,600 (4:38).

Halah Nelson was sixth in the pole vault with an 8-foot leap for the Lady Warriors.
