Genoa Central escapes Centerpoin­t

GENOA, Ark.—Genoa Central defeated Centerpoin­t in a eight inning barn-burner, 4-3, in a baseball game.

Dylan Rushing received the win on the mound for the Dragons. Rushing was 2 for 3 at the plate, adding an RBI in the contest.

Dylan Turley smashed a solo home run in the fourth inning for the Dragons.

Garrett Cook was 1 for 4 at the dish for Genoa Central, chipping in a RBI.

Tyler Moreland went 2 for 2 at the plate, stealing four bases for the Dragons.

Mason Sellers was 1 for 4 at the plate, with his sole hit coming in the form of a walk-off single for Genoa Central. The Dragons are 13-11 this season. Genoa Central is back in action on Thursday, traveling to Prescott at 4:30 p.m.

NEW BOSTON 10, PAUL PEWITT 0

NEW BOSTON, Texas—New Boston run-ruled Paul Pewitt in five innings.

Phillip Sissons received the win on the hill for the Lions.

Tyler Strain added three singles for New Boston in the rout.

Bryce Green went 2 for 3 at the plate, adding three singles for the Lions.

Hunter Burleson was 2 for 2 at the dish for New Boston, adding an RBI on the night.

The Lions are 14-6 overall and 8-3 in district play.

New Boston is back in action on Friday, traveling to Redwater at 7:30 p.m.

HORATIO 5, PRESCOTT 0

HORATIO, Ark.—Horatio blanked Prescott at home in a varsity baseball conference clash.

Dakota Frachiseur received the win on the mound for the Lions. Frachiseur finished the night with six strikeouts.

Cade Vance and Wade Beasley each chipped in an RBI for Horatio.

Horatio is 15-7 overall and 8-4 in conference. The Lions are back in action today, traveling to Mena at 4:30 p.m.

MAUD 2, JAMES BOWIE 1

SIMMS, Texas—Adam Roberts was 3 for 3, had an RBI, and scored the winning run as Maud edged James Bowie at Pirate Field.

Cade Townsend got the win on the hill and was 2 for 3, while teammate Gage Jones knocked in Roberts on a single.

Bailey Obenoskey paced the Pirates with a 2-hit performanc­e.

LINDEN-KILDARE 12, RIVERCREST 1

BOGATA, Texas—Trent Wert scattered six hits and got the win on the mound as Linden-Kildare routed Rivercrest.

Marty Johnson had 3 RBI to go with two singles for the Tigers, while teammate Trey Schuler had 2 RBI on a pair of singles.

Traccer Henry and Caleb Cunningham each had two singles and an RBI for L-K.

NASHVILLE 5, MENA 2

MENA, Ark.—Nashville held on to defeat Mena late in a conference softball clash.

Madi Miller received the win in the circle for the Lady Scrappers.

Kaylea Carver led the Nashville hitters, chipping in two RBI on the night.

The Lady Scrappers are back in action on Thursday, traveling to Ashdown.

Nashville is 14-5 overall this season.

REDWATER 9, DeKALB 3

REDWATER, Texas—Redwater defeated De Kalb in a varsity district softball match.

Bethanee Calicott received the win in the circle for the Lady Dragons. Calicott finished the night with six strikeouts.

Ramzi Smith, Karli Boatright and Bailey O’Bannon, finished the game with two hits apiece for Redwater.

The Lady Dragons finished in third place in District 14-3A.

Redwater will play Mount Vernon in the first round of the playoffs, starting next week.

NEW BOSTON 12, PAUL PEWITT 2

NEW BOSTON, Texas—New Boston ten run-ruled Paul Pewitt in a varsity district softball contest.

Morgan McAlexande­r received the win in the circle for the Lady Lions. McAlexande­r struck out nine Paul Pewitt batters and added two RBI at the plate.

Madison Thomas had three hits and five RBI at the plate for the Lady Lions.

Angela Evans and Alexis Morden, swatted two hits apiece for New Boston.

AVERY 1, MAUD 0

MAUD, Texas—Avery defeated Maud in a varsity softball district match in 11 innings.

Jill Whitney received the win in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs.

Breanna Baird added two hits for Avery and Ashten Simington added a double.

The Lady Bulldogs are back in action this Friday, traveling to James Bowie at 6 p.m.

TMS WINS TWO

MARSHALL, Texas—Jaycee Kennedy booted in two goals as Texas Middle School’s A team routed Marshall 7-0.

Lena Lenoir, Emma Hickerson, Hanie Brown, Brenna Bender, and Allison Davis each kicked in a goal for the Lady Tigers.

Logan Pilgreen and Chloe Pate split time at goalie for the shutout.

Kayla Gale and Laura Garcia each legged in a goal as TMS’s 8th B posted a 2-0 shutout over Marshall.
