AHS girls throttle Hot Springs

Lady Backs’ Fortenberr­y tosses no-no in 18-0 win

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.—Kaitlyn Fortenberr­y pitched a no-hitter for Arkansas High in the rout of Hot Springs in a varsity softball contest, 18-0.

Fortenberr­y struck out nine and walked one in the circle for the Lady Razorbacks.

Sydnee Blackwell led the Lady Backs hitting, finishing with two singles on the night.

Shelby Robinson chipped in two RBI and a single for Arkansas High.

Alyssa Smith added a single for the Lady Backs.

Arkansas High is back in action on Friday, hosting De Queen.

Baseball ARKANSAS HIGH 16, HOT SPRINGS 1

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.—Arkansas High run-ruled Hot Springs on the road, 16-1.

Tristen Koller received the win on the hill for the Hogs. Koller gave up two hits and one run in 2 1-3 innings.

Dylan Adcock and Austin Nix heated the Razorbacks bats. Adcock finished with two doubles and two RBI. Nix completed the night with two singles and two RBI for Arkansas High.

Hog junior slugger Wren Williams added three RBI in the rout.

Hog reserve Dante Valenti slammed in two RBI in the Arkansas High slugfest.

Arkansas High is back in action this Friday, hosting De Queen at 5 p.m.

Tennis

THS COMPETES AT TOURNEY

ALLEN, Texas—Texas High’s varsity tennis team competed in the Region 2 5A tennis tournament in Allen.

Griffin Johnson defeated Dallas Seagoville in Boys Singles. Johnson then fell to Frisco Independen­ce.

Tirzah Bailey and Elizabeth Sanders lost to Lovejoy.

Senior Ali Richter and Cullen Schoen defeated Highland Park and Red Oak in Mixed Doubles. Richter and Schoen fell to Dallas Hillcrest in the semifinals. Richter and Schoen will take on Prosper for third place today at 9 a.m.

Quinn Sanders and Walker Trippe defeated Reedy in Boys Doubles. Sanders and Trippe then defeated Burleson Centennial in the semifinals and defeated Highland Park in the finals. Trippe and Sanders will face Lovejoy in the finals at 9 a.m.
