Ashdown girls defeat Prescott

ASHDOWN, Ark.—Ashdown 10 runruled Prescott in varsity softball at home, 12-2.

Adaysia Thompson received the win in the circle for the Lady Panthers. Thompson finished the night with nine strikeouts.

Kenya Wilson went 3 for 3 at the plate and added three RBI for Ashdown.

VonJoy Thomas was 2 for 3 at the dish, chipping in three RBI for the Lady Panthers.

Hannah McElroy was 1 for 3 at the plate for Ashdown.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—Texas High’s varsity baseball club defeated Mount Pleasant in a district clash on the road.

Colby Adkins received the win on the hill for the Tigers. Adkins finished the night striking six in seven innings worth of work. Adkins was 3 for 3 at the plate, adding three RBI. Chris Lyle was 1 for 4 at the dish for Texas High.

Connor Allred was 3 for 4 for the Tigers at the plate, swatting in two RBI.

Chris Sutton and Cole Christen, both went 1 for 3 for Texas High at the plate. Sutton added two RBI and Christen chipped in one.

Texas High is 12-11 overall and 4-5 in district play.

DAINGERFIE­LD, Texas—Queen City held on late to defeat Daingerfie­ld in a varsity district baseball match.

Easton Fincher received the win on the hill for the Bulldogs.

Queen City did not commit an error during the game.

Robert Hill, Jaeger Jaynes, Bradley Norton, Kyle Parker and Kade Brooks, each drove in runs for the Bulldogs.

Queen City is 16-5 overall and 8-3 in district competitio­n.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday, hosting Paul Pewitt at 6:30 p.m. Fouke 7, Cossatot River 2

FOUKE, Ark.—Fouke’s varsity baseball squad pulled out the victory over Cossatot River on Senior Night.

Jonah Parker received the win on the hill for the Panthers. Parker finished the night with five strikeouts.

Cameron Rawlinson, Brayden Larey and Austin Burris, contribute­d an RBI in the Fouke win.

Lane Coker added a single at the plate for the Panthers.

Fouke is now 14-8 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

The Panthers are back in action today, traveling to Camden Harmony Grove at 5 p.m.

Atlanta 1, Paris 0

ATLANTA, Texas—Atlanta’s varsity softball team held on in extra innings to defeat Paris.

Kaydee Kelly received the win in the circle for the Lady Rabbits. Kelly finished the game with 13 strikeouts.

Victoria Bergt went 3 for 4 at the plate for Atlanta, knocking in the game’s only run.
