Foreman boys, girls win 7-2A West crowns

MAGNET COVE, Ark.—Foreman’s girls and boys took home the gold- en championship trophies at the Conference 7-2A West track and field championship Thursday at Hammonds Stadium.

The Lady Gators defeated Magnet Cove 174-160, while the Gators totaled 190.5 points, a 42.5 point win over runner-up Magnet Cove.

Kenzie Cowan hit the daily double for Foreman as she took top honors in the 100 and 400-meter races. Cowan ran the anchor leg on the winning 4x400 relay team. Other teammates on the 4x400 were Savannah Lovewell, Grace Gwin, and Kadi Downs.

Lovewell, Cowan, Gwin, and Downs crossed the line first in the 4x100 relay. Gwin earned gold in the 200, and teammate Downs was first in the triple jump.

Emeisha Fields took the shot put for the Lady Gators.

Blevins’ top finishers were Jasmine Batson, a triple winner, (long jump, 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles) and Angela Jimenez, a double winner, (1600 and 3200 meters).

Elizabeth Evans was Murfreesboro’s lone female first place finisher as she won the high jump. Murfreesboro finished third with 114 points. Blevins finished third with 108 points.

Kyren Batey won three events for Foreman’s boys: long jump, 100 meters, and 200 meters. The team of Batey, CJ Green, Tucker Hall, and Kavant Singleton were first in the 4x100 relay.

Zack Carver, Green, Hall and Lucas Sharp brought home the 10 points in the 4x400 for the Gators. Teammate Logan Lindsey won the shot put, while Singleton had the fastest time in the 110 hurdles.
