Clay Harrison

Jimmie Clayton “Clay” Harrison, age 61, of Bryans Mill, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Clay was born October 29, 1955 in Naples, Texas to Jimmie Ludell Harrison and Thelma Vertrice Baskin Harrison.

Clay was a member of Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Naples. He was previously employed at Morris County National Bank in Naples for 38 years, serving as president the last 15 years. He was currently employed at American National Bank in Mt. Pleasant.

Clay received his bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University, and later graduated from Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. He was a past president of the Paul Pewitt School Board where he served for 16 years, former member of the Naples-Omaha Lions Club, and the Naples-Omaha Ambulance Association, and former Sunday School teacher. Clay was a lifelong rancher. He enjoyed camping and fishing. Clay was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was his life, and he was the cornerstone of his family.

Clay was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Thelma Harrison.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Barbara Gunter Harrison of Bryans Mill; two daughters and sons-in-law, Miranda and Brent Martin of Naples and Holly and Jeremy Osmon of Naples; one son and daughter-in-law, Clifton and Lauren Harrison of Naples; one sister and brother-in-law, Idora and Bill Thompson of Omaha; four grandchildren, Calli Osmon, Natalie Cobb, Tenley Martin, and Taylor Martin and wife Samantha; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Naples with Bro. Charles Thomas and Bro. Tim Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bryans Mill.
