Learn how to write grants this summer
The Extended Education and Community Development department at Texas A&M University-Texarkana will offer two grant-writing courses this summer on best practices in researching and writing grant proposals.
Introduction to Grants, a four-session seminar, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. July 11, 13, 18 and 20 in University Center 216 on the A&M-Texarkana campus. Designed for those new to grants and grant writing, the course will focus on how to identify and locate grant opportunities, how grants work and how to apply. The cost is $249.
Grant Writing 101, a fourhour writing seminar, will be held Aug. 1 and 8 in UC 216 on the A&M-Texarkana campus. It is designed for those who have identified a grant opportunity and want to get started. Those who lack prior knowledge of grants are encouraged to take Introduction to Grants prior to this class. Cost is $149.
Instructor for both courses is Dr. Dayna Goldstein, assistant professor of English at A&M-Texarkana. Goldstein has a Ph.D. in English from Kent State University, a Master of Arts degree in English from A&MCorpus Christi and a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational communication from the University of Utah. Prior to coming to A&M-Texarkana, she taught writing classes at Georgia Southern University and Kent State University.
