JERRY BROWN SR.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—Jerry Glenn Brown Sr., 70, of Mount Pleasant died Tuesday, June 20, 2017, in Mount Pleasant.

Mr. Brown was born March 19, 1947, in Mount Pleasant. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and an Army veteran.

Surv ivors include his wife, Shirley Brown of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Ashley Brown of Mount Pleasant; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Jr. and La Toni Brown of Dallas; two sisters, Martha Raye Brown of Mount Pleasant and Patricia Harper of New York; one special friend, Perry Brooks of Mount Pleasant; five grandchild­ren; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tumey Mortuary with the Rev. John M. Brooks officiatin­g.

JOHN DENISON

IDABEL, Okla.—John R. “Jay” Denison, 82, of Idabel died Thursday, June 22, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Denison was born Dec. 29, 1934, in idabel. He was retired from the Air Force and National Guard Reserves, an electricia­n and formerly employed with the Sale Barn.

Survivors include his wife, Louise; one son and daughter-inlaw, Roger and Judy Denison of Idabel; one brother, James “Jimmy” Denison; one sister-in-law, Virginia Denison; four granddaugh­ters, Renee Purcell, Cassie Denison, Kaitlin Smith and Kameron Caudle; six great-grandchild­ren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at White Family Funeral Home with Kyle Jordan officiatin­g. Burial will be in Denison Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John Duke Davis, 80, of Lockesburg, Ark., died Thursday, June 22, 2017 in a Texarkana, Texas, hospice.

Mr. Davis was born Sept. 22, 1936 in Rainbow, Texas. He was a retired painter and a Navy veteran.

Surv ivors include his wife, Christina; three sons, Chris Davis of Ashdown, Ark., Pete Jacobsen of Lockesburg and Glenn Jacobsen of Garnervill­e, Nev.; two daughters, Robin Davis of Madera, Calif., and Kathy Lynch of Mena, Ark.; one sister, Alta Fulton of Clovis, Calif.; 18 grandchild­ren; 12 great-grandchild­ren; and one great-greatgrand­child.

Private services will be a latter date. Arrangemen­ts are under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

PERRY LOPER

Perry Glen Loper, 69, of Simms, Texas, died Friday, June 2, 2017, in a local hospital.

Mr. Loper was born Nov. 25, 1947, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was a millright and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Loper; five sons, Perry Jr., Carl, Kevin, Tracy and Larry; one sister, Edna Coburn; 23 grandchild­ren; five great-grandchild­ren; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. July 1 at the family home, 11893 FM 990, Simms. Cremation is under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.

NASHVILLE, Ark.—Mary Ann Power, 69, of Nashville died Tuesday, June 20, 2017, in Morganton, N.C.

Mrs. Power was born April 13, 1948. She was a nurse with Home Health, Ashdown, Ark., a nursing instructor at Cossatot College and a member of First Baptist Church, Nashville.

Survivors include two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Bobby Neal and Gail Power of Bentonvill­e, Ark., Danny Power of Morganton, and Ouida Power and Cheryl Power of Nashville; 10 nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Ozan Cemetery with David Blase officiatin­g. Burial will be under direction of Latimer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

James E. Pate, 71, of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, June 23, 2017 in a local hospice. Mr. Pate was born Nov. 20, 1945 in Texarkana, Ark.

STAMPS, Ark.—Era Jean Gooch, 87, of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, June 23, 2017.

Mrs. Gooch was born Sept. 9, 1929 in Columbia County, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston Gooch; and one great-great grandchild.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Terry Gooch of Magnolia, Ark., and Tommy and Ginger Gooch of Texarkana; two daughters, Anita Segraves and Lou Johnson of Marshall, Texas; three sisters, Linda Rogers of Shelbyvill­e, Tenn., Merlice Munds of Blanchard, La., and Barbara Perry of Huntland, Tenn.; four grandchild­ren; 15 great-grandchild­ren; six great-great-grandchild­ren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Waldo, Ark. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

PAULINE WALKER

HOPE, Ark.—Pauline Walker, 97, of Hope died Thursday, June 22, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Walker was born Aug. 22, 1919 in Hope. She was a retired nurse’s aid with Hempstead County Memorial Hospital, Hope, and a member of Southside Baptist Church, Hope. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde J. Walker; one daughter, Jewell Anderson; one grandson, Wayne Anderson; and one great-grandchild, Ryan Johnson.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Carol Ann Walker of Texarkana and Jim and Ann Walker of Morrilton, Ark.; four grandchild­ren, Rhonda Johnson, Julie Potts, Robyn Johnson and Jerry Anderson; two great-grandchild­ren, Luke Potts and Aniston Potts; and a number of other relatives.

QUEEN CITY, Texas—Mary Pearl Little, 83, od Bloomburg, Texas, died Friday, June 23, 2017, at her home.

Mrs. Little was born May 7, 1934, in Sulphur River bottoms, Texas. She was employed in logging. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A “Bo” Little. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Little of Bloomburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Nita Little of Bloomburg; one grandson and grandson-in-law, David Bledsoe and Carl Mills of Atlanta, Texas; two granddaugh­ters and grandsons-in-law, Stacie and Joe Casiano of Vivian, La., and Denise and Daniel Dison of Bloomburg; and five great-grandchild­ren.

MAGNOLIA, Ark.—Jesse Daley, 92, of Magnolia died Friday, June 23, 2017, in a local hospital.

Mr. Daley was born Aug. 12, 1924, in Ida, La. He was retired from Colonial Bread Co., formerly employed with Magnolia Monument Co., a deacon, Sunday School teacher and member of Central Baptist Church and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Daley.

Survivors include two children and one spouse, Norma Daley Johnson of Magnolia and Buddy and Peggy Morris Daley of Lafayette, La.; one sister, Willie B. Vestal of Doddridge, Ark.; five grandchild­ren, Nicholas Johnson of Milford , Conn., Matthew Johnson of Fayettevil­le, Ark., Jessica Daley Muse of Boulder, Colo., William Daley of Lafayette and Cora Daley Box of Katy, Texas; four great-grandchild­ren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Seabaugh and Steve Ford officiatin­g. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Lewis Funeral home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
