Hendrix Trio, Bowling Family join forces for concert Sunday
Faith Assembly of God and RDH Promotions present The Bowling Family and The Hendrix Trio in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday.
The Bowling Family consists of Mike and Kelly Bowling, their daughter, Hope, and longtime friend Troy Peach.
The Bowlings are no strangers to southern gospel music. Before the couple began singing together, Kelly performed with her family, The Crabb Family. During the 15 years with her family, the group received three Grammy nominations and 11 Dove awards and had 16 No. 1 songs. She was featured on several songs.
Mike performed with such groups as the New Hinsons and the Perrys. While singing with the Perrys, he was featured on several songs, including “God Sent Angels,” “Not Even a Stone” and “When He Spoke.”
Since joining forces, they have appeared on several “Gaither Homecoming” series concerts and videos, Trinity Broadcasting Network and at the Gospel Music Association’s Seminar in the Rockies. Their debut recording project, “Faith To Believe,” has garnered three No. 1 songs, “We Have a Savior,” “Your Cries Have Awoken the Master” and “A Miracle Today,” as well as a 2008 Song of the Year award.
Sharing the stage at the upcoming concert will be longtime local favorites The Hendrix Trio. Over the past 25 years, they have had the privilege to open and host many national recording artists, such as The Hoppers, Gold City and The Bowling Family.
The Hendrix Trio consists of Bobby and Rhonda Hendrix and their daughter, Ranessa.
The Hendrix Trio has released 11 recordings, including the latest “Seasons.” The trio has hosted eight successful Gospel Music Cruises, and are founding members of RDH Promotions.
A love offering will be received at the concert.
