Mr. Quinton Wayne Miner, Sr., age 73, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Monday, July 3, 2017, at his residence.

Mr. Miner was born January 8, 1944, in Texarkana, Arkansas to Verna and Woodrow Miner. He was a 1962 graduate of Arkansas High School and was a graduate of Henderson State University. He was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church and was retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company after thirty years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved camping at Narrows Lake. He was a former volunteer and coach with local baseball and soccer teams. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Dolores Miner Baird, and a bother-in-law, Bill Waits.

Quinton was a smiling, happy person who was generous with everyone. He loved a one-liner, just like his father, and could tell jokes at the appropriat­e moment. He had a good mind that he used to help people and perform tasks. He could remember people and places, and had an uncanny sense of direction. He will be remembered with love!

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Miner of Texarkana, Arkansas, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dr. Quinton Miner, Jr. and Stacey of Annapolis, Maryland, and Derek A. Miner of Corsicana, Texas, one stepson, Kyle Shuemaker of Texarkana, Texas, one step-daughter and her husband, Hannah and Nick Hernandez of Texarkana, Texas, one step-grandson, Lincoln, one sister, Cindy Miner Waits of Texarkana, Arkansas, the mother of his children, Barbara Miner of Texarkana, Arkansas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A. M. Thursday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Rev. Richard Posey officiatin­g. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 PM until 7 PM Wednesday.
