TC receives grants to fund courses at TexAmericas Center in New Boston
Texarkana College has received a grant from Texas Mutual Insurance to fund two free 40-hour courses to be held at the school’s TexAmericas Center site in New Boston. The HAZWOPER and Confined Space courses for area Texas businesses and industries will be held this month and the first week of August.
“This grant provides a great opportunity for local employers to get high-quality training for free,” said Scotty Hayes, TC@ TexAmericas center director. “Space is limited and first come, first served, though, so I encourage employers to reserve spaces as soon as possible.”
The HAZWOPER course will be limited to 30 students and will save industry partners $628 per student. The Confined Space course, limited to 20 students, will save industry partners $943 per student.
Interested business and industry partners can reserve spaces for their employees by emailing the student names and contact information to: Paula Turner, paula.turner@ 903-823-3162; and Susan Bennett, susan.bennett@texarkanacollege.edu, or 903-823-3113.
