JAMES CLEM
James Melvin “Jimmy” Clem, 84, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, July 22, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Clem was born Dec. 13, 1932, in Redwater, Texas. He was a cattle rancher, a professional actor, employed in the oil business and road contracting, a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Brahman Association and National Cattleman’s Association, a Baptist and a Korean War Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by two wives, Mary Catherine “Kitty” Clem and Eddie Lou Slider Clem.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Burt and Jan Clem of Simms, Texas, and Sam and Telka Clem of Texarkana; two stepdaughters, Kathy Constantine of Leary, Texas, and Donna Welch of Dallas, Texas; one stepson, Bo Slider of Leary; one sister, Cean Clem Bonner of Genoa, Ark.; one brother-in-law; Mark Parker of Wamba community, Ark.; and a number of other relatives.
Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Thursday at Northwood Cemetery with the Rev. Hyndrick Klopper and Winford L. Dunn Jr. officiating. Burial will be under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
