In other business, the board was given a preliminary view of the 2017-2018 school year, which reflected a balanced budget with no increase in the tax rate predicted. The board also reviewed the student handbook and approved the student code of conduct.
The teacher appraisal calendar was approved, with the campus administrator selected as the appraiser for the teachers and the superintendent being approved as the appraiser for the campus administrators.
The board also approved a recommendation to allow the district to apply for expedited waivers to allow early release days and days for staff development and receive funding based on student attendance for the waived instructional time.
Cafeteria meal prices were also adjusted. Lunch will be $3 at the elementary school and $3.25 at the middle school.
Other reports concerning maintenance projects, new classrooms and in-service were presented.
