Carol Greenwood Trigg passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017. She was born on April 10, 1928 to R.L. and Evelyn Greenwood of Texarkana, AR. Carol graduated from the University of Arkansas, married Jack E. Trigg on June 16, 1949, and soon after began teaching school.

Carol was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmothe­r and greatgrand­mother. She was an avid volunteer who enjoyed many years of service in the Junior League, TRAHC, and May Dell Garden Club. In her younger years she volunteere­d with the Y-Teens and was a Scout Leader. Carol was instrument­al in the publicatio­n of the St. James Day School Twice As Nice cookbook and was the winner of the TRAHC’s Betty Parker Award for her impact on the arts in Texarkana. She will be remembered by all for her generosity, her strength of character, and her great sense of style.

She is survived by her three children: Ann Trigg Sperry and husband Dwight, Jack E. (Buz) Trigg Jr., and Sally Trigg Edstrom and husband Bob; her grandchild­ren, Wes Sperry and wife Carol, Leigh Cantrell Finney, Katie Cantrell, Kristin Edstrom, and Richard Edstrom; and her greatgrand­son, Jackson Sperry.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jack Trigg, her parents, her sisters, Jane Lenington and Ann Woodman; brother, Sonny Greenwood, and granddaugh­ter, Sarah Ann Sperry.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 P.M. Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Temple Memorial Treatment Center.
