Tickets on sale for Dine on the Line; event will be Oct. 7
The third annual Dine on the Line is scheduled for Oct. 7, and a limited number of tickets are on sale.
Tickets for this year’s Main Street Texarkana fundraiser are available by presale only, and only 500 will be sold. The price is $25 for adults or $10 for children age 12 and under.
The event brings residents together for dinner at a long table down the center of State Line Avenue in front of the federal courthouse and post office. Pecan Point Gastropub and Verona Italian Restaurant will provide adult meals, and Johnny B’s will serve children’s plates.

Live music will be provided by Texarkana’s Dusty Rose Band, which “is working on a special recording at SMART Studios for a ‘State Line
Shuffle’ line dance that we will do on the state line. We are encouraging area schools to come out, participate and show their team spirit in school colors,” McDowell said. The recording will be posted on YouTube in advance.
The family friendly event will also feature pop-up vendors and activities for children. Just before sunset, guests will be asked to gather around the table with both Texarkanas’ mayors for a toast to the two cities and their shared downtown.
Money raised will support Main Street’s mission to revitalize downtown through historic preservation.
“We try to provide incentives for people who are already downtown to help them with expansion. If there’s a new business coming downtown, we have various programs that we provide. It’s amazing how many businesses that we have helped in one way or the other through a grant or a loan or design assistance,” McDowell said.
Dine on the Line is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7. Tickets are available at DOTL2017.eventbrite.com now through Sept. 30.
