PG’s varsity squad wins two of three

LONGVIEW, Texas—Pleasant Grove's varsity volleyball squad won two out of three matches on Saturday at the Longview Tournament.

PG fell to Pine Tree, 25-21, 20-25, 22-25. Britton Anderson added eight kills for the Lady Hawks, Kaylee Kelley chipped in 12 assists and Sydney Hopkins contributed 11 service points.

The Lady Hawks defeated Springhill, 25-17, 19-25, 25-21.

Kelley led Pleasant Grove with 18 assists and nine service points. Anderson added eight kills and nine service points.

PG defeated White Oak for consolation, 27-25, 25-17.

Hopkins added eight kills, Anderson swatted 13 kills and Kelley contributed 16 assists.

Anderson was named to the All-Tournament Team.

DeKalb splits

PARIS, Texas—Dekalb split in its four matches during the finale of the Paris Chisum Tournament.

The Lady Bears defeated Como

Pickton, 25-12, 25-22.

Evette Martinez led DeKalb with 11 service points and Hailey Dalby chipped in six service points.

DeKalb fell to Whiteright, 15-25, 21-25.

Bailey Blackstone led the Lady Bears with six service points and Kynli Holder chipped in four.

DeKalb defeated Wolfe City, 25-11,

25-20.

Dalby led the Lady Bears attack with 10 service points.

The Lady Bears fell to host Paris

Chisum, 21-25, 19-25.

Dalby led DeKalb's attack with six service points and Blackstone swatted in four.

The Lady Bears received third place in the silver bracket.

DeKalb is back in action Tuesday, traveling to Detroit at 4:30 p.m.

THS wins in Garland

GARLAND, Texas—Texas High's varsity volleyball squad won their bracket in the Garland Tournament.

The Lady Tigers defeated McKinney North, 18-25, 25-11, 26-24.

Kaitlyn Cross, Olivia Lower and Treyaunna Rush added eight kills each in the win. Mia Wilson chipped in 15 service points.

THS beat Rains, 25-18, 26-24.

Rush led the Lady Tigers with nine kills, 10 assists and four blocks. Katelyn Jordan added 10 assists and seven service points.

THS defeated Rowlett in the championship match, 25-17, 25-15. Cross led the Lady Tigers with nine kills and seven service points. Rush added eight kills and 11 assists in the win.

Paul Pewitt sweeps

REDWATER, Texas—Paul Pewitt won the challenger bracket at the Redwater Tournament.

The Lady Dragons defeated LindenKildare, 25-15, 25-17.

Breelee Lawings led Paul Pewitt's attack with eight service points and four kills.

The Lady Brahmas beat Chapel Hill in the championship, 25-22, 25-22.

Lawings led Pewitt's attack with seven service points, five digs, and seven kills.

SUBVARSITY

PG wins tournament

Spring Hill, Texas—Pleasant Grove won the Spring Hill junior varsity tournament.

The Lady Hawks defeated Rusk, Gilmer and Whitehouse in pool play on Friday.

PG defeated White Oak, 25-21, 25-21. The Lady Hawks defeated Paris in the championship match, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22.

The 9th grade Lady Hawks won the consolation, defeating Rusk in the final.
