MARIE TIDWELL

DeKALB, Texas—Edith Marie Tidwell, 96, of DeKalb died Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, in a Texarkana, Texas nursing home.

Mrs. Tidwell was born May 8, 1921, in Big Woods community, Texas. She was a homemaker, a member of DeKalb Senior Center Quilting Club and First Baptist Church Spice of Life Group and a Sunday School secretary and Women’s Missionary Society member of Big Woods Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Otto Tidwell; and one grandson, Jared Scott Beach.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Eric Beach of Wake Village, Texas; one son, David Michael “Mike” Tidwell of Texarkana; one brother and sister-in-law, Floyd Jr. and Holly Wilson of DeKalb; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Kyle and Jessica Beach of Texarkana; three great grandchildren, Abigail Grace Beach, Paxton Paul Beach and Caroline Marie Beach; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Big Woods Community Church with Billy Hooker and Scott Neathery officiating. Burial will be in Bigs Woods Cemetery under direction of Bates Family Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. today at the church.
