A 47-year-old woman has been arrested by Texarkana, Ark., police for her alleged role in a shooting at a convenience store parking lot late Thursday, an official said.

Debbie Crittenden was arrested on tampering with evidence charges in connection with Thursday’s shooting at the Stop and Shop Convenience Store at 1804 E. Ninth St.

At presstime, TAPD spokeswoman Kristi Bennett said she was unable to comment on exactly what the evidence is and how the suspect is connected to the shooting.

Police arrived at the store at 10 p.m. Thursday regarding a 911 call about a shooting, Bennett said. Upon arrival, officers found Michael Clark, 18, of Texarkana lying in the parking lot with two gunshot wounds. Clark was taken by LifeNet to Wadley Regional Medical Center for treatment.

During this time, Texarkana, Ark., police found a vehicle traveling fast in the 2700 block of North State Line Avenue. The vehicle failed to stop for police and continued to speed to the emergency room entrance of CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System.

Inside the vehicle was Kartavious Eason, 19, of Hope, Ark., with a gunshot wound to his leg, police said.

The initial investigation indicated that a confrontation occurred near the gas pumps, resulting in gunfire exchanged between Clark and Eason, police said.

Clark is listed in serious condition at Wadley. Eason was released from the hospital and arrested on unrelated warrants.

The investigation is ongoing. Police continue to investigate.
