Cheers & Jeers

-

JEERS: I’ve not eaten in a fast-food place in 20 years (I can cook.) One would think with new technology these rich fast food franchises could track on their customers so when we pick up their trash with our paper the next morning we could report the crime and said culprit could pay a fine equal to the cost of their purchase. That is fair. After, he is uneducated and may not have a job. Please ask him to take his trash home with his date. OK, I’m old. But who is with me?— D.L., Texarkana, Ark.

JEERS: We need term limits on our Arkansasside city directors, Does anyone agree? I don’t see anything those in office now have done.— R.F., Texarkana, Ark.

CHEERS: To the Gazette and Louie Avery for their excellent coverage of the Adams Pro Tour Texarkana Open golf tournament for the Texarkana Children’s Charities.— M.V., Texarkana, Texas

JEERS: To those small business owners in the surrounding areas that don’t seem to realize their own small business could bring customers to their area: it could result in sales and services for the entire community. In this day when everyone is watching their budgets, being nice with good manners does help to keep your community alive. Good service information travels fast. Encourage people to make the extra effort to visit your small town or community.—B.B., Texarkana, Texas
