FOOTBALL
Pleasant Grove Season Football tickets for current season ticket holders will go on sale July 31 from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Central Services, 8500 North Kings Hwy. Current season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase their tickets through Friday, Aug. 4 until 11 a.m. The price this year is $28 for four home games. All remaining reserved tickets will be open to any other interested buyer beginning Aug. 7 at Central Services. For more information contact Trish Long at Central Services at 903-831-4086.
Texas High season tickets go on sale to last year’s season ticket holders Monday, July 31 through August 4. They will be on sale to the general public beginning July, August 7.
Hooks Youth Sports Association will host an Open Flag Football Tournament on September 2nd. The tournament will use NFL Flag Football rules and will be 5 on 5. We will offer a Kindergarten division, a 1st and 2nd grade division, a 3rd and 4th grade division, and a 5th and 6th grade division. There is a $125 team registration fee and the game format will be determined by the number of teams that enter each age group. SHOOTING SPORTS
Tickets are being sold for $25 in the Bowie County 4-H 52-gun drawing. Tickets will be sold for 20 more weeks and are available at D&D Guns in New Boston, Texas. You may also email Cherrie at cc-curtis@tamu.edu to find the closest 4-H member with tickets for sale.
Maud Gun Club is hosting a dove hunters warm up on Aug. 26 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Non-members are welcome and will get first 25 targets for free, after that cost is $5 for 25 targets. Eye and ear protection required. Shell vest and pouch are recommended. No shot larger than 7 1/2 is allowed. For directions or questions call Larry Oxford at 903-280-0482.
RUNNING
The Amanda Fussell Woodman Memorial CASA Colorful 5k will be held on September 23 at the Trinity Baptist Church cross country track. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the kids’ run beginning at 8:30 and the adult run at 9 a.m. To register online, go to runsignup.com/casacolorful5k.
