HOOKS. Texas—After a sluggish first half for Hooks and trailing, 6-0, the Hornets dominated the second half for a 20-6 victory over New Boston at Hornets Stadium in the opening game of the season.

The Hornets were very fortunate to be down by only 6-0, as Hooks lost 54 yards from scrimmage with two bad center snaps and a fumble on another.

With the running of Phillip Dickerson and Nick Sanders for 133 yards in the second half, the Hornets were in complete control.

It wasn't until just 1:34 was left in the third quarter were the Hornets to get on scoreboard for a 7-6 lead.

Hooks went 82 yards on 11 plays with Dickerson scoring from one-yard out.

The Hornets scored again at the 8:47 mark with a 29-yard pass from Connor Price to Logan Murray who was wide open near the goal line for a 13-6 advantage.

New Boston set Hooks deep in its territory after a 53-yard punt to the 10-yard line.

A 26-yard run by Sanders set up Dickerson's 39—yard gallop for a touchdown with 4:49 left. The Hornets marched the 90 yards in just five plays to stretch its lead to 20-6.

After a scoreless first quarter, Hooks had marched down to the Lions' 10-yard line. But a bad snap resulted in a 25-yard loss recovered by New Boston.

New Boston took advan-

tage as it marched downfield for the score. A 39-yard pass from Jhoven Corres to Samuel Sanchez put the Lions at the Hornets 9-yard line.

After a penalty and a loss of two yards, Corres hooked up again with Sanchez with a 16-yard touchdown toss with 4:27 left until halftime.

Dickerson led the Hornets with 139 yards on 18 carries, and Sanders had 86 yards on nine attempts.
