Pleasant Grove’s volleyball club splits matches at tournament

WHITE OAK, Texas—Pleasant Grove's volleyball club split its matches during the Shirley Atkins Volleyball Tournament.

The Lady Hawks fell to Robert E.

Lee, 23-25, 21-25.

Macey Adams led Pleasant Grove with six kills.

PG defeated Pine Tree, 25-20, 25-20. Britton Anderson led the Lady Hawks with nine points and six kills. Kaylee Kelley added 15 assists.

Pleasant Grove fell to Quitman in the consolatio­n match, 25-22, 13-25, 19-25.

Anderson contribute­d 10 kills for the Lady Hawks and Adams added 14 digs.

PG is back in action on Tuesday, traveling to Avery.

HOOKS, Texas—Rivercrest won the Hooks Volleyball Tournament, with Hooks finishing as the runner-up.

Pittsburg defeated Arkansas High, 25-14, 25-15.

Kaitlyn Fortenberr­y led the Lady

Backs with eight service points.

Madison Sansom led Pittsburg with 17 service points.

Arkansas High fell to Maud, 25-23, 22-25, 25-19.

Makenna Ivey led Arkansas High with nine service points.

Kaitlynn Wells added nine points for Maud.

Rivercrest defeated Maud, 25-9, 25-10. Jady Roberts led Rivercrest with 15 points.

Makenna Jones scored two points for Maud.

Queen City fell to Atlanta, 20-25,

25-15, 21-25.

Colleen Kilgore finished with 13 points for Queen City.

Alicia Garcia led Atlanta with 10 points.

Hooks defeated Liberty-Eylau, 25-9,

25-18.

Emma Farquhar led the Lady Hornets with 14 service points.

Derrica Henderson scored seven points for Liberty-Eylau.

Queen City defeated Liberty-Eylau, 21-25, 25-20, 25-20.

Jacie Lane led Queen City with 20 service points.

Kaliyah Thompson finished with nine points for L-E.

Hooks defeated Atlanta, 25-19, 25-19. Farquhar led Hooks with 11 service points.

Mallory McClure led Atlanta with seven points.

Queen City defeated Maud, 25-16,

25-18.

Lance led Queen City with 12 points. Brynn Sultz led Maud with eight service points.

CROSS COUNTRY

Texas High won the boys' division and Genoa Central claimed the girls' division of the Warrior Invitation­al.

Will Harrell finished first with a time of 16:49 and teammate Owen Likins placed second with a time of 17:00.

Jonathan Green finished with a time of 18:50 and Austin Broussard followed with 18:53.

Anna Cree finished fifth for the Lady Tigers with a time of 22:28 and Madelyn Bowman placed ninth with a score of 23:25.

Trinity Christian won the junior boys division.

Evan Likens was a top finisher for Texas High with a time of 10:20.
