Texas High takes easy win in meet

Texas High was an easy winner in the Warrior Invitation­al Cross Country Meet at Trinity Christian School Saturday morning with a total of 32 points.

Will Harrell was the overall winner with a time of 16.49 over the 3.1-mile course around fields and through woods around the campus.

Owen Likens stayed close behind Harrell most of the way and placed second at 17:02.

DeQueen finished second in the meet, led by Hector Hernandez and Gustavo Arce who placed third and fourth.

Genoa Central's Jack Jones and Ryan Whitehead were fifth and sixth ahead of Texas High's Jonathan Green and Austin Broussard.

Nelson, 13th.

Casey Eddy of GC was 10th, and also placing in the top 15 were Cade Haak, Pleasant Grove, 11th, and Alex Cannon, 14th. The top 15 runners received awards.

Aspen Tuck of Wright City, Okla., was the overall female winner and Kallon Carnley of Bloomburg was second.

Placing in the top 10 for Texas High was Anna Cree, 5th, and Madeline Bowman, 9th. Faith Green, Arkansas High, was 10th.

In the junior girls division, Macy McLean of Trinity Christian was second.

Trinity will be hosting another meet, the Jack Huntze Invitation­al, Saturday, Sept. 16th.
