Horatio digs past Murfreesbo­ro, 42-6

MURFREESBO­RO, Ark.—Horatio gave coach Robert Collum his second win at the school, beating Murfreesbo­ro, 42-6, on Friday night.

The Lions dominated the ground game, finishing with 394 yards on 37 attempts.

Running back Kelton Turner led Horatio in rushing, accumulati­ng 146 yards on just seven carries, which included a 58-yard touchdown.

Zach Izzo accumulate­d 144 yards and four touchdowns on 14 tries for Horatio, and the quarterbac­k completed two passes for 23 yards.

Murfreesbo­ro's Tyler Tomlinson and Michael Hughes combined for 155 yards rushing, and running back JC Motley recorded the team's lone score in the fourth quarter.

Next week, Horatio (2-0) will host

Foreman, and Murfreesbo­ro (0-2) will welcome Hampton.

Fouke 78, Hermitage 0

FOUKE, Ark.—Fouke used a 32-point opening quarter to rout the Hermits.

This game was all but over at halftime, as the Panthers added another 34 points in the second quarter while holding Hermitage scoreless. Fouke finished the game off with six points in each of the final two quarters.

The turnover bug came down extremely hard on the Panthers, as they lost five fumbles and threw an intercepti­on.

The Panthers were led by Jared Easley with 117 yards on two carries, and Dillan Richardson with 107 yards on three carries. Hunter Lansdell threw for 260 yards as he hit on 5 of 6 passes.

Prescott 41,

Camden Harmony Grove 20

PRESCOTT, Ark.—Thomas Muldrew rushed for 139 yards on just 12 carries and the defending state champion Prescott Curley Wolves cruised past Camden Harmony Grove at at Eddie Jackson Field at Cummins Stadium.

Muldrew finished the game with three touchdowns, including 48- and 19-yard runs in the second quarter to help give Prescott a 33-6 lead going into halftime.

Quarterbac­k Cade Haynie threw for 248 yards on 16 of 21 passing, with only one intercepti­on, and found Cameron Cox on a 68-yarder for his lone touchdown.

The Curley Wolves totalled 245 yards on the ground on 24 carries.

Prescott will travel to Hope next week to play the Bobcats.

Genoa Central 41, Lafayette County 27

GENOA, Ark.—Genoa Central's fourth-quarter performanc­e was the difference-maker Friday night in its win over Lafayette County.

Quarterbac­k Bo Jewell got into the end zone on a 22-yard run in the fourth quarter for the Dragons and later connected with receiver Dalton Savell that put the game out of reach.

Jewell went 3-for-8 passing on the night for 64 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed 14 times for 84 yards and another two scores.

Genoa Central piled up 457 yards rushing, including 141-yard performanc­e from Kole Allen and 138 yards by Patrick Markham. Savell finished with two receiving touchdowns, while collecting another 85 yards and a score on the ground.

Lafayette County's Justin Brown finished with two scores, including a 79-yarder in the third quarter.

Genoa Central (1-1) will travel to Spring Hill next week, and Lafayette County (0-2) will host Parkers Chapel.
