TEAMS: Greenwood at Arkansas High KICKOFF: 7 p.m., Razorback Stadium

LAST WEEK: The Razorbacks defeated Conference 5A rival Camden Fairview at home, 30-14. Greenwood defeated Alma on the road, 54-28.

LAST YEAR: The Bulldogs pillaged the Hogs at home, 55-10.

GAME FACTS: Barry Norton is currently 2-0 at Razorback Stadium as head coach at Arkansas High. Connor Noland is the No. 1 football recruit in the state of Arkansas and is currently committed to play baseball at the University of Arkansas. Greenwood has outscored opponents 137-35 in three games.

COACHES’ COMMENTS: Greenwood’s Rick Jones— “We have a long ways to go but we have shown that we have the ability to be a pretty good football team. We’ve played well in the first half of the first three games and not so great in the second half.”

“Connor (Noland) is a great young man and a great leader. He’s a hard-worker and really bright kid. He’s dedicated to being the very best he can be and that’s what sets him apart. I’m really lucky to have a kid like him on my team.”

“Things have changed drastically at Texarkana the past few months. The kids are playing hard and they know what they’re doing. I watched the guys

from Texarkana run at the state track meet last year and just noticed how fast they were.”

Arkansas High’s Barry Norton— “I think our offense if progressing weekly. Things are new for these guys and everything is new to them. Drake (Browning) has a great command of the offense and we have also had some depth issues at wide receiver. Irijah (Price) had to play a flanker position for us this past week but the next man has to be ready.”

“We still believe defense wins championships around here. Everything starts on defense and I brought that ideology with me from West Orange-Stark. We have been able to keep the best athletes possible to play defense for us. I’d rather win 7-6, thank 67-63. Our defenses haven’t always been dominant but they’ve been really good. I believe if we can keep teams under three scores, then that should give us a chance to win.” RADIO: 1400 AM
