- —EARL GILL

LAST WEEK: The Razorbacks fell to top-ranked Greenwood at Razorback Stadium, 38-17. Lake Hamilton fell to El Dorado on the road, 35-13.

THIS WEEK: Arkansas High travels to Lake Hamilton on Friday for a 7 p.m. clash at Wolf Stadium.

OFFENSIVE STANDOUTS: Junior quarterback Drake Browning torched the Bulldog defenders with his legs and in the air. Browning finished with 108 yards passing and 62 yards rushing. Junior receiver Irijah Price finished with eight catches for 80 yards. Junior running back Jordan Hall finished with 15 carries for 89 yards. DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS: None available

COACH BARRY NORTON’S COMMENTS: “We won a half and they won a half. I thought we played really well in the first half. The first two possessions in the third quarter really hurt us. We gave them good field position, and the momentum shifted. We’re not good enough to play from behind at the moment. I told our kids that we could win if we played error-free football, but I thought our kids played hard and well.”

“I told our defensive group that we weren’t going to lay up. We weren’t going to play a soft zone and let him (quarterback Connor Noland) slice us up. I think we really played well and got after the quarterback. I’m not a big statistics guy, but I wasn’t going to sit back and let him pick us apart.”

“The difference is they have an established program, and they have been through those battles. We’re striving to get our program where theirs is. They’re really good at what they do, and it is a well-coached program. When it gets in those tight situations, other teams don’t expect to win those games and programs like Greenwood does.”
