DeKalb Bears triumph in shootout with Ore City

DEKALB, Texas—The DeKalb Bears won a shootout against Ore City Friday night at home, 54-50.

Jaquan Jackson continued to lead the Bears offense with his 35 carries and 486 yards. Jackson scored all eight of DeKalb's touchdowns.

Jackson scored on runs of 18, 70, 20, 19, 67, 38, 64, and 17 yards before his night was finished.

New Diana 42, Hooks 28

HOOKS, Texas—Hooks fell to New Diana at home in their last game before district play.

Shamar Jefferson got the Hornets on the board with his 46 yard fumble recovery.

Phillip Dickson scored for Hooks on runs of 1 and 11 yards.

Hooks rushed for 208 yards, while New Diana gained 246 on the ground.

Mason Valazquez rounded out the Hornet scorers with his 14 yard run.

VOLLEYBALL

Maud wins

CLARKSVILL­E, Texas— Maud's varsity volleyball squad defeated Clarksvill­e on the road, 25-18, 25-15, 16-25, 25-12.

Riley Murphy led the Lady Cardinals with 13 kills and Makenna Jones added 12 digs.

Harley Dear chipped in 20 assists for Maud and Haley Yates contribute­d 10 service points.

The Lady Cardinals are back in action on Tuesday, hosting Avery at 4:30 p.m.

Daingerfie­ld falls

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas— Daingerfie­ld fell to Hughes Springs in three sets, 27-25, 25-10, 25-12.

Lemerica Alexander added two kills and five digs for the Lady Tigers. Ellixandri­a Walker added five kills and four blocks.

Montrevia Durham contribute­d two kills and one block for Daingerfie­ld.

The Lady Tigers are back in action on Tuesday, traveling to Redwater.
