Lady Dragons sweep Daingerfie­ld

REDWATER, Texas—The Redwater Lady Dragons varsity volleyball team defeated Daingerfie­ld in three sets, 25-9, 25-13, 25-18, Tuesday.

Bella Fernandez and Bethanee Calicott each scored 11 points for Redwater.

Karlee Carmony added eight kills for Redwater and Ally Walston chipped in nine digs.

Keeley Wilbur contribute­d 10 assists for the Lady Dragons.

Destiny Hurndon led Daingerfie­ld with seven service points. Redwater is 22-6 overall and 8-2 in district. The Lady Dragons are back in action on Friday, hosting New Boston.

Redwater won the junior varsity A contest against Daingerfie­ld, 25-12, 25-9.

Ryleigh McKee led the Lady Dragons with nine service points and JahKayla Doddy added five points for Daingerfie­ld.

The Lady Dragons won the junior varsity B contest, 25-15, 25-7.

Kailynn Hanson led Redwater with 16 service points and Kayleigh Phillips added three points for Daingerfie­ld.

Avery wins in 3

MAUD, Texas—Avery’s volleyball squad defeated Maud in three sets, 25-22, 25-12, 25-11.

Jill Whitney led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 service points, four aces and 11 kills.

Cassidy Kelsoe added 15 points, six kills and six digs for Avery.

Megan Roberts chipped in 10 service points and three aces for the Lady Bulldogs.

Avery’s junior varsity team defeated Maud, 25-11, 23-25, 25-12.

Quinn Lipe led the Lady Bulldogs with eight service points.

Queen City wins QUEEN CITY, Texas—Queen City’s varsity volleyball squad defeated DeKalb in three straight sets, 25-10, 25-8, 25-14.

Emily Maxwell and Jacie Lance each scored 15 service points for the Lady Bulldogs.

The junior varsity Bulldogs defeated DeKalb, 25-14, 25-18.

L-K sweeps

GILMER, Texas—Linden-Kildare’s varsity volleyball squad defeated Union Hill in three sets, 25-8, 25-15, 25-8.

Sierra Johnson led the Lady Tigers with 16 service points, two aces, three kills and 12 digs.

MaKayla Martin added 17 service points for L-K.

Amaya Savannah chipped in 12 service points, two aces, three kills and 12 digs for the Lady Tigers.

L-K’s junior varsity squad defeated Union Hill, 25-13, 25-13.

Marissa Tyson led the Lady Tigers with nine points.

New Boston falls

OMAHA-NAPLES, Texas—Paul Pewitt’s varsity volleyball squad defeated New Boston in five sets, 25-21, 14-25, 27-25, 19-25, 15-11.

Hannah Ratcliff led New Boston with 10 service points and Morgan McAlexande­r added 17 kills.

McKenzee Thomas chipped in 10 kills for the Lady Lions and Grace Duffer finished with 28 assists.

New Boston won the junior varsity contest with Pewitt, 25-13, 25-16.

Tamiya Smith led the Lady Lions with 11 service points.

The Lady Lions junior varsity B team defeated Paul Pewitt, 25-11, 25-12.

Faith Cowley led New Boston with seven service points.

The Lady Lions are back in action on Friday at Redwater.

Mustangs prevail

HOOKS, Texas—Peyton Blythe and Pearl Perry each had 11 service points to lead Hughes Springs to a 20-25, 2520, 26-24, 21-25, 15-11, win over Hooks.

Kenley Kyles served in 13 winners and made 28 assists, Marena Estell made eight blocks, Lexie Frachiseur had 12 kills and seven blocks, and Emma Farquahr made 35 digs for the Lady Hornets.

Rylie Tenbrook served in eight points as Hughes Springs won the junior varsity A team match, 8-25, 25-18, 25-19. Savannah Smith served in 17 winners for the Hornets.

Karsyn Vallejos had 13 service points, and Hooks won the jayvee B match, 25-10, 21-25, 25-23. Hailey Dalrymple served in 10 points for the Mustangs.

Hooks (19-13, 5-5) hosts Daingerfie­ld Friday at 4

p.m., varsity only.

Tennis

Texas High defeated Greenville to improve their record to 18-1. The Tigers are also undefeated in district competitio­n.

THS is back in action on Monday, traveling to Sulphur Springs to face Forney at 10 a.m.

Football

TMS falls

Greenville defeated Texas Middle School’s 7th grade B squad, 28-6.

Alexander Jones caught a 15-yard pass from John Thomas Borowitz for the Tigers.

TMS is 3-1 overall this season. The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday at Mount Pleasant.
