E-Z Mart marks 18th year of sponsorship
E-Z Mart is honored to have supported Texarkana Race for the Cure since its inception in 1998 and by serving as the grand presenting sponsor for 18 of those 19 years.
During that time, the company has contributed more than $625,000 in sponsorship and in-kind donations.
“We have been involved with this event since day one and remain committed to putting it out of business. After all, we are ‘racing for a cure.’ When that cure is found, we will all celebrate and find another battle to win,” said Sonja Hubbard, Texarkana-based E-Z Mart convenience stores chief executive officer.
“It is E-Z Mart’s hope that we will, one day soon, never again lose friends and family to this tragic disease. We salute the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation for leading the charge and showing us that we can make a difference,” Hubbard said.
The E-Z Mart race team of approximately 60 members will be lending its support, while another group of E-Z Mart team members volunteered to get out extra early and wake up the crowd with the company’s signature FaEllen Coffee on race morning.
Whether it’s E-Z Mart’s longtime support of Race for the Cure or lending charitable support to other ventures, the goal is the same.
“We are committed to ‘Making Life EZR 4’ the communities in which we operate by being a responsible retailer, providing support and encouraging teammate involvement,” Hubbard said.
Susan G. Komen Texarkana officials value the support E-Z Mart gives the race.
“E-Z Mart is passionate about helping us find a cure for breast cancer. Their support is what helps us fulfill our mission in the community. Their dedication and spirit to this local race have proved invaluable to the people we serve,” said Amber Lawrence, South West Region director for Komen Arkansas.
