COACH GERRY STANFORD’S COMMENTS: “We had a really good open week (last week), and our practices were crisp and some of the best we’ve had all year. Some of that is the kids gaining experience over the course of the year and showing improvements in understanding what we’re trying to get done. We still have yet to play our best football. Each week we strive to get better and, hopefully, that’s where we’re headed right now.

“We played very physical, especially our offensive line; they played well and took some big steps forward up front. We were able to run the ball very effectively and improved in that area as much as any other. We tackled a lot better, were physical on defense, as well, and ran to the ball. We forced four turnovers, elluding to the physicality we played with, and as long as continue to do those things good things will happen.”
